Obituary of Shelia Diane Covington

Shelia was born on November 22, 1958, in Mecklenburg County, NC to the late Virginia Bright and Albert Covington.  In 1968, her family migrated to Washington, DC . She graduated from Cardozo Senior High School in 1977 and worked as a Medical Lab Technician for Howard University Hospital. Shelia fellowshipped at New Commandment Bapt. Church and later joined Southeast Tabernacle Bapt. Church, where she served on the usher board.

     Her interests were  dancing, going to shows, dressing  in designer clothes and hanging with friends. Although Shelia was ill, she didn't let that stop her from loving those around her and she continued to get up everyday and make the best of her life. She loved reading the bible as if it was a novel. She also loved listening to, dancing to and watching repeats of her favorite Actress/Singer Diana Ross.

     Shelia is survived by her 5 children, Cekiethia Covington, Jerome Johnson, Heather Covington, Albert Covington & Robert Kemp, Jr.; 2 sisters, Alberta Covington & Brenda Jackson; 4 Brothers, David Covington, William Covington, Allen Covington, Kenneth Covington ; 10 Grandchildren
