Obituary of Jessie Ray Kornegay

but unto all them also that Love his appearing.

 

Jessie Ray Kornegay Sr. was born July 12, 1950 to Mrs. Pearle Mae Jones and Mr. Jessie Kornegay (who proceeded him in death) in New Bern, Nort Carolina. Ham as we all lovingly knew him attended Craven County Public Schools and graduated in 1968. Shortly After graduation Ham moved to Washington, DC where he began his Career   with The District of Columbia Government at The Department of Agriculture in 1969. He maintained a stellar career and  after 40 years of dedicated service he retired in 2009.

 

In 1971 Jessie met the Love of his life Frances Wiggins, they united in Matrimony in 1980 and remained happily married until his passing. Jessie loved spending time with family, taking road trips, daily walks, working on cars and watching Clint Eastwood movies. He was also a Die Hard Redskin Fan Forever. #HTTR

 

Jessie leaves to cherish his memory. His Wife Frances Wiggins Kornegay. Three Sons: Jessie Ray Kornegay Jr., Jason Kornegay and Antonio Kornegay all of Washington,  DC. Four Brothers: Jerry Kornegay (Linda) of Bladensburg, MD, William’s Kornegay  (Jackie) of Myrtle Beach,  SC, Maurice Kornegay of Raleigh,  NC and Pernell Kornegay of Philadelphia,  Pa. Three Sisters: Elizabeth Bynum (Jarvis) Of High Point, NC, Rosetta Kornegay of New Bern, NC, Stephanie Bell (Clifford) of Zebulon, NC. 2 Brother in Laws: Donnell Wiggins Jr. of Washington, DC,  Melvin Wiggins (Bernice) of Greensboro,  NC.  One Sister in Law: Mary Griffin of Albemarle, NC. One Aunt: Mildred Howard Jones of New Bern, NC. 13 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren a host of Nieces, Nephews,  Cousins and other family and friends.

 

 

The family would like to say a special Thanks to Patrice Chambers, Teresa Rowland, and Machell Hunterfor all the support during Hams time of illness and beyond.

 

Life long friends: Darius (Rahlo) Clinton, Tom, Redd, Joe Shell, David Lee, Clement and Hack.
