Obituary written by daughter, Brenda E. Reed
William Alfred Reed was born to the late Emily Hargrove Reed and Gabriel Reed, Jr. on December 10, 1940, and departed this life on December 9, 2020.
William attended Mecklenburg County Schools; mainly West End High School.
In September, 1962, William married Maggie Henderson. To this union, 3 daughters were born: Beatrice, Brenda Elaine, and Barbara Ann. In addition, he had 2 stepsons, Freddie and Fred Henderson.
When he relocated to Arlington, VA in 1962, William had a long career as an Auto Body Painter starting at Temple Motors in Alexandria, VA.
Later in his life, William would work with the late John Robinson, and Dr. Leonard Muse of Green Valley, Arlington, VA with any chores that they may need help with. Also, he was well know within the Nauck/Green Valley Community. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the Walter Reed Community Center.
As he got older, his health was taking a toll on him; God needed him more.
Surviving Mr. Reed to mourn his loss are his 3 daughters, Beatrice Reed Fuller, Temple Hills MD, Brenda Elaine Reed, Herndon, VA, Barbara Ann Reed, Alexandria, VA. 2 Stepsons, Freddie and Fred Henderson, Lawrenceville, VA, 4 grandsons, Frederick T. Stewart, Freddie L. Stewart, Kevin L. Fuller, and Davon L. Henderson. 2 Brothers, Allen Reed, Portsmouth, VA, Robert L. Reed, Arlington, VA, 1 Sister, Sarah L. Towler, Bealeton, VA. Many other relatives and friends.
