Obituary of Ada Jeanette Hawkins

Jeanette lived in McLean, VA and graduated from Langley High School in 1977. She was a dedicated granddaughter, daughter, sister, aunt, and mother.

Although a hard worker, Jeanette was above all, a devoted ever present single mother who relished in enjoying life and spending time with her family. She loved creative art projects, learning new things, movies, music (specifically Michael Jackson and Prince) and playing with the family dog. Sewing was just one of many mediums that she would use to express herself and share her love with others. Her creations are worn by many family and friends. She even found herself becoming an evolving chef. Known for being a natural caretaker, she always put the needs of others before her own and was empathetic to their hardships. Being quick-witted, she was the relative or friend you always wanted to be around at gatherings or call to speak to on the phone. Her magnetic personality made her everyone’s instant favorite and she will be more than missed. As an undeniable light in life, Jeanette will remain the center of everyone’s heart.

In her passing Jeannette leaves behind: her children Georgianna Hawkins and George Hawkins. Siblings Christine Lomax, Cesar Hawkins, Edna Hawkins, and Michael Hawkins. Brother-in-law Edward Lomax and Sister-in-law Tiffany Hawkins.  Nieces Natasha, Jessica, Rianne and Starr. Nephews Alfonzo and Curtis. Great Nieces Nia and Aaliyah and a Great Nephew JT.
